Today is my
27th birthday, What a gift - we're heading to Greece for an exciting
14-day adventure. I'm leaving from Kansas City at 2:30 p.m. to meet my sister
and my Mom and Dad at the Chicago O'Hare international terminal. I've packed
everything I think I need, and am convinced that I will still be able to trek my
luggage from village to village comfortably. I'm ready!
At 5:00 p.m.
we rendezvous at the British Airways terminal. That's when I announced to the
family that we have just encountered our first SNAFU. We were scheduled to
depart at 8:10 p.m. on a flight to London Heathrow where we would connect with
our next flight to Athens. Our flight was delayed by 6 hours.
Undeterred by
our unfortunate setback (we would never make our connection to Athens) we set
out to find an alternative solution. Through some handy investigative work, and
a small amount of groveling, we are able to secure 4 seats on India Air bound
for London. We'll make our connection after all!
