Day 10: Pireus
Sunday, May 30th, 1999
Spent
the morning touring Athens. Returned the rental car after putting about 2,500
km on the odometer.
Met
with Demiti at the hotel and took a taxi to Pireus for lunch. Had some
fantastic fish on the balcony of a restaurant overlooking the harbor. Spent
some time talking with Demitri and walking around Pireus.
Got
back to the Hotel Divani at about 3:00 PM and decided to take a short siesta,
which is customary in Greece. Later in the afternoon, Niki and I set out to
buy some last minute items in the Plaka.
We
enjoy a nice quiet dinner in the Plaka and return to the hotel early.
